Could @KhanAcademy have created the ultimate LMS for Mathematics?

If you haven’t seen this wonderful presentation by Salman Khan at TED this year you should definitely watch it.  At 12:30 into the video Salman starts to showcase the custom tracking dashboards that they utilize as a school piloting his “curriculum” (if you can call it that) and how that school is able to track students individually over time on progress.

It’s an amazing speech which highlights an even more amazing glimpse into what may be the best innovation in the world of LMSs we’ve seen. User centered, aggregating content and dynamically and adaptively helping students move through assessments toward proficiency: it is exactly what is needed in schools today.

I stumbled upon your website LMSwatch, specifically:
    http://www.lmswatch.com/2011/could-khanacademy-have-created-the-ultimate-lms-for-mathematics/

And after watching the entire TED video (my jaw was figuratively open when I saw the student progress graphs show even slow learners progressing) I emailed my college Principal to share with him the link.

I’ve also put up some Accordion Resource links on my Moodle course pages which, when clicked up, opens up the embedded TED Salman Khan video in the accordion.

THANKS for that post on LMSwatch.

I though Canvas was the only Great new kid on the block, seems that Salman Khan’s academy has > 1 Million online users, and I didn’t even know about it, or hear about it until I read your post.
